What is the best thing about homemade spring rolls? the freshness of the ingredients taste so much better than store-bought. This is an exciting blends of Asian flavours and a perfect finger food. I have two recipes that are both absolutely delicious. Flavour variations of spring rolls that i know of are, pork, chicken, vegetables, prawn and many more i have yet to try. My favourite will always be the prawn with vegetables. It’s simply the best!
Ingredients:
For the prawn vegetable spring rolls you will need:
100 gram minced prawns
1 large carrot, peeled and cut into thin strips
2 cups of bean sprouts, washed
handful of green beans, sliced diagonally
2 tbsp olive oil
2 cloves of garlic, roughly chopped
1 small white onion, roughly chopped
salt and pepper to taste
Dipping Sauce:
4 tbsp white wine vinegar
1 red onion, chopped
black pepper
For mackerel spring rolls you will need:
300g smoked mackerel, sliced lengthwise
half of cucumber, slice into thin strips
Dipping Sauce:
sour cream sprinkled with salt and black pepper
Spring roll pastry sheets/wrappers
5 Cups of vegetable oil for deep frying
Sauté recipes separately and set aside to cool down.
Get ready for spring roll wrapping with the step by step photos.
Deep-fry to golden perfection and serve immediately.
